For most of the people who were at the parole board hearing this decision was a forgone conclusion after listening to the board pepper LaGuer with questions about the original case and at times witnessing emotional outbursts from board members during the exchange.
During the Commonwealth’s statement ADA Sandra Hautanen stoutly refuted LaGuer’s claim that he turned down a plea bargain in 1983. In this instance the Commonwealth is provably wrong:
