I’m running for State Treasurer because I believe that 35 years of leadership creating jobs, meeting payrolls, and managing money in our 100-year-old family business have given me the experience to do the job and to do it right. I am the only candidate for Treasurer in either party whose entire career has been all about creating jobs. Under my management, our company has grown eightfold and provided good-paying jobs with good benefits. And in 58 years as a union shop, we never have had a matter go to arbitration.
I have stood with you and the Democratic Party for forty years, as party chair in Massachusetts and nationally. I have proud to have helped women, young people, and people of color get involved in politics and become leaders themselves. We have worked together in causes and campaigns that reflect the values of we share as Democrats: social and economic justice, and to the dignity of every citizen.
Now, I ask for your help. In order to win in November against a well-funded Republican opponent, your support will help us organize a winning grassroots campaign in every community in the state. Please stand with me at the convention, and we will stand together in the winner’s circle on Saturday, on September 14th, and on November 2nd.
on the Treasurer candidates. You have my vote at the convention. Good Luck!
An informal poll of my delegation shows you tied with “undecided” and no votes for anyone else.
<
p>I suspect that the undecideds range from “Oh, gosh, we’re electing a new Treasurer this year?” to “I haven’t done my homework, so I’ll wait to hear what the candidates have to say.”
<
p>I have every confidence that you’ll win a lot of these people over with your sure-to-be-inspiring speech at the Convention.
<
p>See you soon!
You won the vote at the convention by a landslide – you received over 3000 votes and “the other guy” barely more than 500!
<
p>I loved the happy dance you and your wife did and the positive energy you radiated all day.
<
p>The Roosevelt quote about being judged not by how much more those who have much receive, but rather by the needs of those with little being met was beautiful.
