Yesterday, our campaign filed our second quarter fundraising report and I wanted to share with you some of the details.
We raised more than $385,000 and ended the quarter with over $566,000 cash on hand.
This marked an increase in both contributions and individual donors from the first quarter and give us a solid base to build off for the election.
I am very pleased with our fundraising this quarter and grateful to the thousands of individuals who came forward and contributed to the campaign.
What excites me most about this report is that large number of new, grassroots contributions that came into the campaign. 1,206 individuals contributed in the second quarter, 532 of whom were first-time contributors. More than half of our contributors gave $100 or less.
I would like to thank everyone in the netroots community who contributed to the campaign, particularly the more than 200 people who participated in our end-of-quarter online fundraising drive.
I am very proud of what congress has accomplished this year, particularly our efforts to reform healthcare, repeal DADT, better serve our veterans and end abuses on Wall Street. But the national environment is still challenging.
Our campaign is working hard to contact voters and raise the resources necessary for the fall election and I believe that with your support we can keep the 5Th District Blue.
Stay contected with the campaign through Facebook, Twitter and our website.
