While some involved in this election have tried to pit one community against another in an effort to win votes, I have worked, both at the State House and during my re-election campaign with a shared, singular focus of continuing the progressive tradition of this seat. We have made bringing this diverse district together around issues that matter to all of us a top priority.
I urge each of you to take a look at my voting record and you will see someone who has been on your side on the issues that affect each of us in our everyday lives: creating and retaining jobs, increasing investment in early education programs, keeping quality health care affordable and accessible, finalizing comprehensive CORI reform, preserving affordable housing, protecting our environment and ensuring the civil rights of all of our state’s residents.
I am proud of my record on these critical issues and of my work with many members of the progressive community to move toward achieving these goals. I am honored that my re-election campaign has been endorsed by numerous progressive leaders and causes including Senators Sonia Chang-Diaz, Jamie Eldridge and Pat Jehlen and Representative Carl Sciortino, Cambridge City Councillors Henrietta Davis, Marjorie Decker, Leland Cheung and Tim Toomey and organizations such as MassEquality, Mass Alliance, the SEIU State Council, the National Association of Social Workers-MA PACE and the Massachusetts League of Environmental Voters, just to name a few.
While I think you will all agree with me that endorsements are nice, we all know they are not what will decide this election and more importantly, bring about real changes in our communities. What matters the most is working with these like-minded leaders and organizations to find solutions to issues, delivering results and looking out for the people of this district on a daily basis. It is what I have heard from you going door-to-door over the past nine months, it is what I have done throughout my entire career in local government and in the Senate, and I believe it is why my campaign is in a strong position to win the Democratic primary in fourteen days.
I hope you can join us tonight at Lesley University and I ask for your vote on September 14th to re-elect a Senator who you can count on to deliver on the issues and uphold the values that we hold in common. Thanks,
Senator Sal DiDomenico
