The House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed food-safety legislation in July of 2009. Ever since, the American public has been waiting for the Senate to follow suit. In the 13 months that have passed, thousands of people have gotten sick nationwide. This kind of delay is unacceptable. The Senate simply cannot wait for more people to get sick before we take action.
Senators Brown and Kerry need to act now. You can help by contacting them and telling them we want to see the FDA Modernization Act taken to the floor of the Senate for a vote.
