I just saw this on Boston.com. File under “New Lows in American Politics”.
The guy stepping on the woman’s head, after she’s already subdued and being held down by a couple other guys, this hero’s name is Tim Profitt.
From the Globe:
The person who struck Valle with his foot blamed police for not intervening.
“I’m sorry that it came to that, and I apologize if it appeared overly forceful, but I was concerned about Rand’s safety,” Tim Profitt said.
A judge will decide whether Profitt should face criminal charges.
Man assaulting a woman- disgraceful and cowardly. Man assaulting a woman while she’s being held down by other men- repulsive. Man stomping a woman’s head while she’s being held down and subdued for exercising freedom of political expression- horrible.
Not sure what Rand Paul has to say about this. Is he so delicate that he would disintegrate upon hearing from a dissenter? Does he really require this kind of “protection”?
As for Mr. Profitt, let’s hope the justice system deals with him accordingly. Personally, of course, I’d like to punch him in the mouth.

I missed that post- it should perhaps be front-paged.

What’s this, we’re going to stomp the heads of political opponents?
<
p>Are candidates going to have to have some sort of gang or militia to protect their people now?
<
p>Ridiculous. Throw the book at this jack-booted thug.
<
p>All forms of government (socialist, conservative, religious….) prohibit this, and rightly so.

Although I feel like somehow these things get swept under the rug later. No party has a lock on this type of intimidation and violence. When a candidate gets heckled or people get too close, their staff and security go over the top with violent actions. I say book’m!
<
p>But I should remind you how BMG (David) feels about stories concerning non MA candidates…

p>Everything is equivalent.

Sorry to burst your bubble but we have people in all parts of the country in both parties doing underhanded and certainly uncivil things. I have pointed a few cases out here on BMG and am happy to be consistent in condemning the action regardless of who they are. As I’ve said, right is right and wrong is wrong, this was wrong.

Show a video of a Dem candidate supporter stomping on or otherwise manhandling an opposition protester and I’ll be more than happy to condemn it. This is starting to feel like a trend with an Angle supporter punching a Reid supporter and Joe Miller’s “security” arresting a critical blogger. As much as I hate to invoke Godwin’s law some of this is starting to feel like tactics used by Nazis to get elected.

You have a quote there that you’re attributing to ABC news, but your either misquoting or quoting a different source. ABC news didn’t use the term “MoveOn.org liberal thug” nor did they quote anyone that used that term.

This is the quote from ABC News…

but certainly not about these incidents. I condemn them regardless of the party. I don’t want violence, I don’t want voter intimidation, I don’t want voting “irregularities” and I do want every vote from our military members to be counted and for voting officials to follow the law regarding their ballots.

They are morally pure, unlike those nasty republicans and conservative democrats. In fact, haven’t some scientists recently discovered the “liberal” gene. In my lifetime I have never seen any church, political or social group which was free of human frailty (sin/corruption)so these liberals must be almost inhuman, visitors from another planet, perhaps.
