The true progressive in the 9th Congressional District race is not the incumbent Democrat,Stephen Lynch, but Phil Dunkelbarger, who is running as an Independent. You may recall that Phil ran against Lynch four years ago in the Democrtaic primary. Running as an anti-war candidate, Phil managed to take a significant chunk of the vote in the primary in spite of his limited resources. If you are not happy with the type of leadership associated with Congressman Lynch, I urge you to educate yourself as to the alternative in the race- Phil Dunkelbarger (Dunk2010.com)

Well, this post is quite obvious to me, since I’ve been pushing Dunk since day one.
<
p>I’d like to bring to light a few little known facts about the race, to further educate people, since you won’t find these facts on Dunkelbarger’s website, http://www.dunk2010.com.
<
p>1). Phil’s most likely going to win. In the Primary Election, Lynch only got about 1/2 of the support that he garnered as an unopposed candidate in the Primary in 2008. His support base has eroded away, and he’s not going to pull many Republican votes this time around, since Vernon Harrison has the (R) next to his name. Many GOP’s are voting party lines this time around, and the die-hards are going to cast a vote for Harrison, not the “better of two evils” Lynch.
<
p>2). Almost all of the registered Independents or Unenrolled (of which there are about 48% of in MA) are going to vote with the person they best identify with, and that candidate is the only Independent in the race: Phil Dunkelbarger.
<
p>3). In most cases, polls are indicating that Harrison is a loon, too crazy for even most Republicans to consider voting for. He brings no experience (former Comedian), and has no firm position on any issue. He’s an unseasoned candidate with little to no visibility in the district. He’s going to finish 3rd.
<
p>4). Dunkelbarger is going to pull in a lot of Republican votes, and that’s not a bad thing. This time around, people are going to vote with their heads, and elect someone who brings a common sense approach to Washington, D.C. Phil is going to shake things up, change the way we do business down there, and make back door deals a thing of the past.
<
p>5). The most visible candidate is Dunk for sure. I’ve seen him at least 20 times, as opposed to Harrison, who I saw twice, and Lynch, who I saw once. Trust me, the hardest worker by far is Dunk, and most of us value that in a candidate, no matter what they support.
<
p>I’ll see you all on 11/2.
<
p>Just in case you’d like to come, Dunkelbarger is having a party at 626 High St. in Dedham, MA 02026 from 7-10 pm. Everyone’s invited, but you have to RSVP to his office by calling: 781-326-8944.

Lynch will win in a walk, but a vote for Phil is a vote not wasted.
