All I’ve heard from both sides would indicate that there is agreement that military personnel votes should be given leeway to be counted. The election and deadline haven’t passed yet, so hopefully the ballots get in on time, though assaulting a protester is much worse than enforcing procedures.

that new york missed the federally mandated deadline to mail out military ballots — by over a month.
<
p>There can be little expectation that the ballots will find their ways to all the soldiers in countries across the globe, get voted upon, and sent back and counted in less than a couple weeks.
<
p>Sure, the democrats in new york agree, in theory, that military personell should have their votes count, but in practice it’s clear they don’t care.
<
p>Also Christopher, I’m dissapointed you refer to the laws that are meant to protect the right of our soldiers overseas to have their voices hear as a “procedure” rather than the basis of our democratic system. What would you do if your right to vote was ignored and the guy at the help desk shrugged and called it not enforcing procedure?

I had no idea about this. I tend to be a stickler for rules, but do try to be accomodating when it comes to voting. If the state missed the deadline for mailing out the ballots then it would seem more than logical that they also extend the deadline by which they need to be returned.

Your partisan conspiracy implications were completely uncalled for, and I still think that a bureaucratic snafu pales in comparison to violence.

Do all photos look this photoshopped? I mean seriously, I’m no expert, but the Nazi photo looks pretty fake. The light is way off. The Aqua Teen think looks funny too, but it looks uniformly badly exposed. Any eyewitnesses to this sign? I found what looks to be a larger photo on an LA Times blog. Notice the shadow of the woman’s foot and the brightness of the sign. Does it line up?

p>2. How come the first sites that come up when I google are are NewsBusters and FreeRepublic? Except for the LA Times blog, I’m missing something like independent confirmation. The GOP loves to prove their enemies play by the same rules at it does, even if they don’t.
There were signs about signs, such as BIG SIGN, or WITTY SIGN, and yet another informing the world that I HAVE A SIGN. THIS SIGN IS SPELLED CORRECTLY hinted that the other side needed work on its spelling. I CAN SEE SANITY FROM MY HOUSE perhaps needed no explanation. Another theme was the Hitler reference, the rhetorical atom bomb lobbed at everyone from George Bush to Barack Obama. Uncle Sam pointed at the reader: I WANT YOU TO STOP DRAWING HITLER MUSTACHES ON EVERYONE. Another sign, carried by a man dressed like the Führer, read: NO, I’M HITLER.
