Do these guys think that radio interviews aren’t recorded?
<
p>Are they so accustomed to lying that they genuinely don’t know they’re doing it?
<
p>Do they think nobody cares?
<
p>Astonishing.

In their minds, the ends justify the means, and the truth is not anything to lose sleep over. This has been an increasingly prevalent attitude on the Right, sometimes labeled the “noble lie” advocated in modern times by Leo Strauss. The notion has been advocated by Irving Kristol, his son William, and others in the neoconservative ranks.
<
p>The unspoken component of their tactic is that repeating a lie often will cause a significant portion of the public to believe it as truth, even if it is repeatedly demonstrated to be false. This is the Big Lie, attributed by Goebbels to the English:
One should not as a rule reveal one’s secrets, since one does not know if and when one may need them again. The essential English leadership secret does not depend on particular intelligence. Rather, it depends on a remarkably stupid thick-headedness. The English follow the principle that when one lies, one should lie big, and stick to it. They keep up their lies, even at the risk of looking ridiculous.
<
p>This is the basis for Perry’s (and Baker’s, and etc.’s) disregard for the truth. Sometimes it works – which is why we are waging war in Asia again.

…and have come to the conclusion that Jeff Perry is a pathological liar. If you’ve ever encountered a friend or relative that is a pathological liar, you understand two things: A) They actually believe what they say at that moment is truthful (no doubt they have deep issues) and B) they are extremely good liars and it takes a while to realize that they are pathological liars. Here’s hoping that the voters figure that out by Nov. 2nd.

The Liberals and Democrats are trying once again to distort the truth on what Jeff Perry is saying. Bill Keating said in the Plymouth Debate, and the Fourm at Cape Cod Community College, he would cut the funding on the Afghan War. This statement alone clearly states Keating does not SUPPORT OUR TROOPS who are fighting there. The funding is for their support.
Keating also stated in Plymouth that he would close all our bases in Europe because,” we have no enemies there”. He repeated the base closings once again at the Cape Cod Community College forum.
<
p>Bill Keating is out of touch with reality when it comes to just about anything in this district. He clearly showed he has no idea on National Security issues especially in Europe with NATO, who is responsible to protect over 900 million people, and with the increase threat from Iran and North Korea, it would be asking for trouble if we closed our bases there.
Al-Qaida was defeated in Afghanistan a year ago, according to General McChrystal, who should know.
Extending their tour for no good purpose weakens us: the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are taking crucially needed resources from our home, where they could be used to invest and strengthen us, and wasted in Asia.

to get elected. Isn’t that how it’s done?

p>The “do not support the troops” stuff is sheer poison not just to political discourse but to national unity. It is bad for America. Osama bin Laden could not have hoped for a more toxic meme.
<
p>It cynically exploits Bay State families and communities with men and women at risk–and DYING–overseas.
<
p>Could there be anything more vile?
<
p>To me, parroting this is enough to disqualify anyone for public office. And Perry apparently (“I didn’t say that”) doesn’t even believe it.
