BMG News has declared Deval Patrick and Tim Murray the winners of the race for Massachusetts Governor! Boston.com shows that, with 5% of the vote in, Patrick holds a commanding 52% of the vote, to 39% for Charlie Baker. With major cities like Boston and Worcester yet to report, the crack team of statisticians at BMG News feels that Patrick's lead at this point is insurmountable.

Maybe not wrong, but freaking bold.
hah
In 2006, Patrick won Plymouth. With 86% reporting, the Globe has Baker up 49-39. That’s a big difference in results. How much is Plymouth like other places? Dunno.

p>Bold.
Waltham has been a bellwether town for several cycles, pretty much always picking the winner. Patrick is way up in Waltham as of now.
There’s no reason to think that Waltham’s demographics relative to the Commonwealth make them very predictive. Again, I’m not saying you’re prediction is wrong, but “bellweathers” aren’t very useful for predictions for stuff like this.
is going to be skewed this year because of intense race in Keating/Perry.
that’s a way better response than the Waltham one. đŸ™‚
A bit too early for that. Things look decent so far, but the key will be turnout in Democratic bases like Boston. The towns that have reported so far just aren’t representative.
<
p>I will say turnout so far looks solid statewide. It in fact looks like we may get close to 2.4 million voters, which would be better than 2006. I wouldn’t have thought that would happen, but great turnout today (for a midterm election).
And it does look good based on what we have so far. Patrick is hitting the margins he needs in most places. Hopefully this is validated by more town results trickling in.
That really would be terrific.

Just how exciting? This is a family-friendly website, I thought.
These towns went for Baker, and 100% of their precincts have already reported.
<
p>That is, in these places, where he’s got a lead, there’s no bigger lead to be had.

Sestak in PA is up over Toomy by over 100K votes and only 37% of phily and 60% of Pitt have reported!!! Might be an unexpected Dem senate victory.
