This seems like something that ought to be of intense local interest for all MA residents and bigwigs — even Sen. Brown.
Climate change is causing sea levels to rise more dramatically. The expansion of water as oceans heat up – along with melting glaciers and ice sheets – are forcing coastline communities to start planning for more flooding.
Now, the Boston Harbor Association is holding a free public symposium on Boston Harbor sea level rise the evening of Nov. 9 and in the morning of Nov. 10 through lunch.
Featuring Gina McCarthy, Assistant Administrator, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and Princeton University Professor Guy Nordenson, who coordinated the Museum of Modern Art's 2010 exhibition, “Rising Currents: Projects for New York's Waterfront,” will be the keynote speakers.
While the forum is open to the public, attendees much register. For the Nov. 9th event go here to For the Nov. 10 event, go here. Or you can call 617- 482 -1722.
