The US Senate by a vote of 63-33 shut down John McCain’s filibuster of the repeal of military discrimination against gays (“DADT”). The bill still has a few procedural hurdles to get past before it reaches the President. Still the repeal bill got 6 Republican votes, so the GOP’s opposition is weakened.
Unfortunately the Dream Act fell to a filibuster, getting only 55 votes to close debate.
