Saw Fox’s Bill O’Reilly interview President Obama before the superbowl.
Looked like O’Reilly had just come off a three day binge.
o’reilly was extremely rude and looked drunk.
As usual, President Obama didn’t fall for o’reilly’s traps and came off like a President and a gentleman which is more than can be said for oreilly.

And I am sorry that you cannot discuss issues without resorting to ethnic slurs.
joets says
It’s not an ethnic slur if its supported by empirical evidence.

p>Irish people love to drink copious amounts of alcohol. Quite a few gingers on my mothers side of the family and if they could have a hand removed and a glass attached to the stump, they’d do it.
<
p>Luckily my fiery irish blood has been sufficiently mixed with brooding, calculating german blood. The result? Drinking myself into a stupor, but rather than getting into fights I just put myself to bed.
<
p>There’s got to be science behind it.
medfieldbluebob says
OK. Since I never watch the Super Bowl pregame show, I didn’t see this live. I just watched the youtube clip.
<
p>He could have buttoned the jacket. He could have, should have, sat back in his chair. His makeup – or the lighting – didn’t look great. Butted in a bit when President was answering.
<
p>It was a lame interview; ask question, get answer, blah blah blah, move on. Not particularly informative.
<
p>But extremely rude? Drunk? Three day binge? Not sure I’m looking at the same interview.
<
p>Tense. A bit pushy at times. A little opinionated. But extremely rude? No.
<
p>I’ve only seen internet clips of O’Reilly but this seemed pretty calm and quiet for him. Frankly, I thought there were a few times went he even tried to be empathetic and friendly; like when they discussed whether the job had changed him.
<
p>And the Irish crack was uncalled for and insulting. Thanks for deleting it.

mark-bail says
He certainly has enough shortcomings to criticize without resorting to making more up.
<
p>I couldn’t find any online accusations of O’Reilly being an alcoholic. If you have even a semi-legitimate link, post it. There’s plenty on his falafel/loofah brouhaha. Nothing on drinking.
olde-spice says
90 proof.

Really shows the difference between this site and RedMassGroup

but you’ll notice criticism from three BMG regulars and a deleted comment (from the post author?) by the editors.
<
p>Don’t know how that stacks up against RMG.
eaboclipper says
The gentleman posted it three times. IT was deleted three times. And the author’s IP address has been banned.
<
p>We’re usually more tolerant over at RMG but we do have a policy against libel. Which pretty much all this is, in my humble opinion.
david says
I’d certainly have deleted it. But I don’t. Saying someone was “rude” and “looked drunk” is pretty clearly an expression of opinion, however ill-informed.
eaboclipper says
That’s why I said in my opinion. It is a baseless ad hominem attack though.
eaboclipper says
he has a drinking problem. “back on the sauce”.
joets says
it should be back on the pill, but then people might get the wrong idea….

It is refreshing to hear someone, anyone… ask the President some tough/awkward questions. I have no idea what you are talking about concerning O’Rielly. He looked comfortable and relaxed, although you could tell he was trying to get a lot in with very little time.
<
p>I think the PResident came across very well. He seemed relaxed and maybe was reducing the us/them atmosphere which the media loves to permeate on every current event. The President seemed like a person who could sit down and talk to an adversary, even a FOX star like Bill.
<
p>I won’t take the bait of “scoring” this a win/loss, but I will say it was an enjoyable, honest and slightly informative interview and I hope he hangs the olive branch out there more often.
<
p>Something humorous was listening to the pundits babble about their reviews on the interview with Lawrence O’Donnell ready to have a heart attack blaming O’Rielly of interrupting the POTUS 28 times… He’s just jealous!
christopher says
O’Reilly’s interruptions were irksome.
