What if no CEO of a so-called nonprofit – or its management, and no head of a Quasi Public Agency earned more than 10x the average worker in that nonprofit or Quasi-public Agency? Or 5x?
-No matter from what source.
-including deferred comp, perks, & EVERYTHING.
-had the same retirement and termination benefits as every other employee.
Just maybe then the public would support revenue restructuring. Just maybe then the public sense of unfairness would not be frequent.
Just maybe there would be more money for repairing crumbling dams and roads, for the blind, the deaf, the mentally, ill, the homeless, children in foster care, etc.
And you know what? That would be MORE than enough to have a very good lifestyle for a family.
Could it be the Animal Farm Culture of “all of us are equal ‘cept me – I am and deserve to be MORE equal” and the managerial/elite/oligarchic class all identifies with Napoleon of Animal Farm Fame?
And, just maybe, Boards of Directors of corporations who are true fiduciaries for share holders (not taking care of their own elite tribe of oligarchs) should have the same rule in every corporation.
It would be fair. It would avoid a Neo-gilded age of Oligarchs. Napoleon from Animal Farm would not like it – but would you?
