Congressman McGovern calls for “fair and balanced” defunding of media.

ThinkProgress has a clip of Congressman Jim McGovern explaining to his colleagues why no federal agency should advertise on Fox News.  The context was a GOP-called “emergency” hearing on defunding NPR.  Funny how relief aide to Japan or job creation has not been subject to any emergency hearings.

  1. I’d be happy if federal agencies never advertised. It’s just big government propaganda anyways.  

    • military recruiting from your “government bad” position. Or maybe you think they should just round up everyone at the Unemployment and ship them off to Basic Training.

      p>You may see them as propoganda, but the programs are more wasteful if money is allocated, but not used.

      p>Code phrases like “big government” don’t make me cringe.  To me big government=activist government, which to me is great for how we collectively help each other in society.
