House GOP leader Eric Cantor is apparently confused about the basic constitutional process by which a bill becomes a law. He seems to think that a bill can become law without Senate action. Lest you think he misspoke, he intends to pass another law to back up his words.
Here is the video from last night’s Last Word reporting the matter.
Here is our own Barney Frank reacting to it, also from Last Word.

As I believe you mentioned on another thread, they are just plain knee-jerk anti-enlightment bent on outdoing each other. They must like Thomas Hobbes, who famously said that in a state of nature life is “solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short.” Witness the following examples:
<
p>NH GOP calls for withdrawal from RGGI, currently on the BMG front page. A few weeks ago they wanted to deny voting rights to students, because “they vote liberal, they vote with their feelings”.
<
p>They weaken the EPA though apparently some Dems voted for this one since the margin was veto-proof.
<
p>They voted to deregulate flight and pilot safety.
<
p>Some even question the obvious, such as DUI laws.
<
p>The Maine GOP wants to gut child labor laws.
<
p>One POTUS-wannabe thinks kids should be forced at gunpoint to learn about history from a discredited historian.
<
p>Then of course are all the state attempts to destroy the labor movement, though the silver lining to that may be that Obama will win those states in 2012, putting him well on his way to 270.

p>The ThinkProgress links are just what I found on the front page as of this writing. They are good at finding the most extreme clips and quotes and I recommend daily visits. There’s so much that people need to know, but much of this never makes it beyond liberal sites and MSNBC.
