This is frustrating as anything. Where are the big spenders? Where are those who say that we must spend MORE, either for economic reasons to stimulate recovery, or for moral reasons that bad times are exactly when you must bolster spending for service programs when they are needed most? Why do we hear all about Paul Ryan in the House and his proposal, but not from his Senate counterpart who would be a Democrat? This debate has been entirely on GOP terms. This has been the House acts and the Senate reacts when it should have been both chambers acting to pass their budgets and then brought to conference to bring them together. I didn’t hear much about the President’s budget either, though he is I believe required by law to submit one. I really hope this pattern doesn’t repeat for the FY 2012 budget.
