Anyone else having this problem with Verizon FIOS?
Watching the end of the third inning, Sox Yankees are still scoreless. NESN breaks to commercials. NESN commercials end. A brief glimpse of the green field and the voice of Don Orsillo, The screen then goes blank, and four very local commercials (a couple of local car dealers and another local business) appears. When the local commercials end, the score is now 1-0 Red Sox, Adrian Gonzalez hit a home run, and the count on Kevin Youkilis was 1-2.
There are agreements in which cable operators can insert commercials over the spots in the cable channel’s feed, but it is obvious that this problem with FIOS has been going on for weeks. Calls to Verizon have been fruitless, and a complaint to the MA Department of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation resulted in a nice voicemail in which they said Verizon claimed no responsibility and was blaming NESN.
Anyone else getting programming blocked by Verizon FIOS induced commercials?
I had the same problem with that inning on Verizon FIOS — missed Gonzalez’s HR completely. Frustrating. Interestingly, WEEI was also having strange problems with multiple instances of commercials interrupting the broadcast in the middle of innings — including one case later in the Sox half of the third inning. Suddenly, in the middle of an at bat, a set of three radio ads play as if the inning was over.
These seem like really bad screwups that need to stop.
