For the Bruins, this is a real must-win situation tonight, not like those faux must-wins for games 3 and 4. Lose and the dream is over.
From my neutral-observer point of view, I’d like to see the series go to seven. What’s better than one game, winner-take-all??
Do you think Tim Thomas gave Roberto Luongo a call over the weekend for some goaltending tips? đŸ˜‰
Puck drops after 8pm. TV is NBC (channel 7 in Boston).

Luongo lasts 8:25.
It’s just really weird how different the games are depending on location.

The sing-song taunts by the crowd. They’re annoying, and a bit of a jinx, IMO.
Other than that, great stuff so fat. Go Bruins!!

The 5th goal was big for a few reasons. You HAVE to score 5-on-3 to keep the confidence up. Also, other than that four and a half minutes in the 1st, Vancouver was playing even with the Bruins. Lots of luck for Boston this game: a few pucks hopping over sticks, a couple posts, a save by Chara…
Sing-song chants: I don’t really like it either, but it happens everywhere.
If we’re talking about peeves, in general I don’t like the way music is used in any of the major sports (too loud; an assumption that we need to be entertained every second we are there). But in particular about hockey, I really don’t like it when teams play the same song after every score. Boston does it, and Chicago comes to mind as well. It’s as if the crowd wouldn’t know how to celebrate a goal otherwise. What’s wrong with screaming and clapping and high fives?
OK, enough Mr. Grumpy. Back to the game.

Strategy for victory: Score 6 goals in the first period. Can’t take another nail-biter!
