Everybody knows that healthcare premiums keep going up and up. (And up some more.) As consumers, we have to pay more for our health insurance — and we don’t get the bang for our buck. Our families can’t afford health coverage. Our small businesses can’t hire because they can’t pay for health insurance. Our communities have to make painful budget choices because healthcare spending squeezes out other programs.
That’s why Health Care for All and Greater Boston Interfaith Organization are teaming up. They’re calling for shared responsibility to contain the rising costs of healthcare. They’re issuing a call to action to tell insurers and providers that we are not willing to pay for the rising costs of health care any longer. It’s time to give outrageous premium increases a time-out!
They will announce their challenge this Thursday at a rally in front of the State House. This is a call to action to bring everyone to the table–insurers, providers, city and state governments, and consumers–to find meaningful ways to improve the health care system to preserve access and improve quality care, while also reducing costs.
But in order to be heard loud and clear, we need your help! So when we issue this challenge, we need to demonstrate support. Please let me know if you’re able to join us – and who you can bring along!
• Who: You and anybody you can bring along
