This is utterly pathetic, isn’t it?
Today, the Globe asked Marcie Kinzel, Brown’s communications director, for an interview with the senator to get his reaction to Fehrnstrom’s admission.
Her response?
“Senator Brown’s not available and if you have questions, you should direct them to Eric,” Kinzel replied via email.
Uh, Marcie? We know what Eric said, and frankly, nobody particularly cares about his views. What we, as constituents of Senator Brown, want and deserve to know is what the Senator thinks about members of his staff undertaking a “slimy” (to use Fox News’ Greta van Susteren’s word) stunt like this.
We’ve written numerous posts about how Scott Brown, “the caboose of the Senate,” is a follower rather than a leader. About how he can never take a position on anything until the political winds have blown sufficiently for him to decide which position most helps him win reelection. And we’re not the only ones to have noticed that trend.
But this level of straight-up cowardice that we’re seeing now is new, as far as I can recall. His own staff is caught red-handed in a dirty-tricks campaign – and he can’t even make a comment on it? Not even through his spokesman?
That’s just sad, Senator.

@massdems Sir, I am a US Congressman. I would never stand for such frat-boy antics. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have lacrosse practice.

Isn’t there a better way to link to a tweet?

if you click the timestamp directly under the tweet, it will bring up a unique URL for that tweet.
