Democratic candidate for the 12th Bristol State Representative seat, Roger Brunelle, has been campaigning throughout the District since winning the August 23rd Primary.
Roger has the active support of such diverse organizations as the New Bedford based Coalition for Social Justice, NARAL, the Massachusetts Nurses Association, Fire Fighters across the District, the National Association of Social Workers and the Massachusetts AFL-CIO including local unions representing families that live in New Bedford, Taunton, Middleboro, Lakeville and Freetown.
The 12th Bristol District has been trending Republican for the last few elections and the Tea Party wing of the Republican Party is in full gear for this race. Tea Party fundraisers have been held across Massachusetts (and beyond) for Roger’s opponent.
Roger Brunelle has made retaining, restoring and creating jobs on the South Coast one of his three priority issues.Protecting local aid is a second and maintaining senior services makes up the top three. Roger’s commitment to Senior services was clear when he was the only candidate to answer the AARP survey on his positions on issues impacting older Americans. His opponent refused to respond.
You can find out more about Roger Brunelle at his website – www.votebrunelle2011.com – and you can volunteer by stopping by Brunelle campaign HQ at 554 Pleasant Street in New Bedford anytime tomorrow.
Republicans have declared class warfare and are pursuing the fight with grim efficiency. Brunelle is actually willing to fight back for working families, rather than go along with the current “plan” of Democratic leaders to have the middle class die on its knees.
Here’s how I see it — if you like Elizabeth Warren for her policies and record, you’ll like Brunelle. And if you like Brunelle, can’t you lend an hour in the next couple days to get him into the State House?
Early results, not final, etc. but it appears that Keiko Orrall has won the race to replace Steve Canessa!
