Last week Steve Kerrigan was erroneously accused of stuffing the ballot boxes over at Conor Yunits’ very clever and amusing “Fall Madness” people’s seat bracketed poll…this week it’s Steve Grossman going over the top to drive up his numbers in his match up with Deval Patrick (see email below). When I get an email with the title: “Need Your Help Now!”, I assume it is at least somewhat important or serious…guess those days are gone…I will think twice before opening a call for help from the Grossman Committee in the future…come on Steve, aren’t there some better things you could have your new director working on? and I’m not talking about booking you on Food shows to discuss ice cream flavors (you’ve already done that!)…

Speaking of this poll, one pairing has Lt. Gov. Tim Murray and Salem Mayor Kim Driscoll…both super in their own right…looking at the match up, I was thinking that this could be a great team-up for a powerful Dem. Gov/LG ticket in 2014!!! Tim and Kim 2014 !

I swear, the more I hear/learn about Steve Grossman, the more I like him. Any pol who can have such fun with a game like this is just plain awesomesauce in my book.

Steve could close down all of the mini-gaming centers the state treasurer’s office runs at just about every convenient store in the Commonwealth… won’t be much fun left for those keno and lottery players, but heck they could find new games to play in another state.
Disclaimer: I like Steve Grossman…but I like his ice cream schtick better than his urgent emails for help with silly season polls.

to see an email requesting HELP from a politician that didn’t require opening the checkbook.
Also need to include a shout out for Steve’s work on saving us by shifting the Commonwealth’s accounts to our community banks that care about our communities.
Good work Steve!

Kudos to Conor Yunits for creating a fun and interesting political event, which raises awareness for an important US Senate race at a time when Washington is gridlocked and our real problems aren’t being addressed. Any political activity or contest, however people might respond to it or perceive it, that engages citizens in the democratic process (particularly, on this Labor Day weekend) is something Team Grossman is happy to be involved in. The fact that we are competitive in our endeavors assumes we would want to win this particular contest.
If you have not yet vote, we’d be honored by your support. You can vote by visiting http://www.peoplesseat.com.
Have a safe and enjoyable Labor Day weekend. We look forward to seeing you on the trail!
Best regards,
Josh Dawson

Your original email blast conveyed the love and appreciation for the democratic processes and light-hearted competitiveness that this back peddling post did; rather calling for all of your supporters to help you beat Governor Patrick in order to stroke the committees ego how about encouraging them to donate or volunteer in relief efforts. Aren’t there a couple hundred people in western mass who have suffered massive property damage and lost their homes in the wake of Irene? If damage totals don’t reach the threshold for federal assistance then the state will have to pick up the bill. Where are the treasurer’s contingency plans if the burden falls on the state? It seems he had countless during the debt ceiling gridlock when the potential shortage was months away but the news cameras were ready and rolling…WE HAVE PEOPLE IN NEED NOW!
