So, how did you like like that serious journalism in the Herald today:
“18,000 Jobs Lost to Health Care”
- 12 paragraphs on a Beacon Hill Institute study that was not linked to
- 3 paragraphs were direct quotes from the report or the institute’s director
- No quotes from non-partisan analysts
- No quotes from proponents of the health care law
- Two unintelligible sentences on the methodology
- No mention the fact that Mass insures 95% of its population while having unemployment rate 1.4% lower than the national average (7.6%)
- By the BHI’s logic, Texas should be killing it. But their unemployment rate is 8.4% despite the fact that they only insure 75.4% of their population
You can call Purcell a lot of things, but a journalist is not one of them.
