Some press coverage:

2. Gassed, rubber bullets, 700 police at 4:30 AM – now that is
courage, see Oakland Tribune:

3. Photos, complete with gas cloud enveloping the peaceful camp – all
of these pictures were taken in Oakland,
America:
The phone number for Mayor Quan of Oakland
is: 510 238 3141 if you wish to let her know you read about her actions,
and find them unacceptable, even shameful.
I say again, the occupy movement constitutes patriots taking a stand, and
assembling peacefully here and abroad; Citizens United was a tipping point in
the United States, judicial activism going beyond the case and controversy due
to a political agenda – as is the wealth consolidation and ever increasing
control of money over elections and thereby, of government itself.
In Albany, New York, the police refused to destroy and arrest Occupy Albany. Again, it is shameful what was
done at 4:30 AM under cover of darkness against peaceful Americans assembled to
protect democracy in Oakland California, see above. As for Albany, NY: See http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/10/24/1029620/-BREAKING
There is no honor in Oakland’s
office of the mayor today, Marine Corps Sargent Shamar Thomas says it

Oh, shame, Oakland,
Mr. Potter would be so proud (George Bailey, where are you when we need you?): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Icqrx0OimSs&feature=share

It is ironic that Scott Olsen came back safely from two tours in Iraq, but is in critical condition with brain swelling after being shot with a rubber bullet in Oakland, California during a peaceful march. His room mate is interviewed here by Keith Olberman: http://current.com/shows/countdown/videos/occupy-oakland-keith-shannon-on-injured-iraq-veteran-scott-olsen
It turns out both Scott and his room mate are members of Iraq Veterans for Peace/Veterans for Peace and it also appears there was no violence or provocation from marchers before arrests started, or to warrant “flash/bang granades” that can be heard for miles. It also appears Oakland spent millions on trying suppression – while planning to close 5 schools. There appears to be a call for a general strike in Oakland, and sympathy strikes on November 2, 2011. I don’t have enough confirmation for a separate post, but when I do, the post will go up.

This development is especially depressing in light of reading this article about mayor Jean Quan.
Becoming mayor after years of fighting authority
Now she is the authority, and instead of tackling the major crime problems of Oakland, she is assaulting people exercising their constitutional right to peaceful assembly.

The real criminals that crashed the stock market, wiped out half of our 401Ks, sent their jobs overseas, spilled oil in the gulf….got bailed out with our money.
When citizens peacefully assembling to question their government and voice concern about corporate influence, are attacked by their government.
Most Americans would prefer seeing the police removing the lobbyists from inside government buildings. The government is clearly not working for the people!

For the decision and more details, go to the Occupy Cleveland website. I have said, repeatedly, that without access to Courts & attorneys, laws aren’t worth spit – perfect example: http://occupycleveland.com/2011/10/26/occupycleveland-wins-injunction-in-federal-court-against-city-will-begin-247-occupation-immediately/

Mark 4:22 seems to apply: “There is nothing hidden save that it shall be revealed”
What bothers me is the repeated throwing of those canisters at this already injured guy and those trying to help him – sure looks that way to me.

I’d never believe that the police we act in such away if I didn’t see it for myself.
Shame on them. And shame on those who control their actions.

Some echos of history are appearing with the Occupy Movement. This is from the Occupy Oakland site:

There were 1467 votes – over 90% of those voting and present – in favor of the one day general strike. And they are back onsite.
