I note four spam posts today, each quickly removed (thankfully). I also notice the prominent place occupied by the fabulous Elizabeth Warren response to Karl Rove’s latest smear attempt, and recall her choice of BMG as the site from which to begin her campaign.
I’d like to at least raise the possibility that we will be subject to DoS attacks from the right-wing smear machine. Arranging for us to be the target of multiple spam posts is one obvious tactic, not that far removed from the antics of Eric Fehrnstrom that we’ve already seen. It might be worth doing a little nslookup hackery to just see whether any immediate connection exists among the various sources of our spam posts.
Kudos to the editors for clearing this morning’s batch. Perhaps we all might consider our options if BMG faces more concerted threats.
