Is it contrary to the spirit of the event to take a mean pleasure in Scott Brown (who made vacuous comments about how Washington could benefit from more of MLK’s spirit) having to speak directly before Governor Patrick (whose moving remarks challenged those present to follow MLK’s example and give more of themselves to helping others) at this morning’s MLK breakfast? It made it abundantly clear what an empty suit Brown is, especially when Mayor Menino and AG Coakley followed and spoke about economic inequality.
