There are several links with at least some information, for example . Of course, the Iowa Caucuses sucked up all the main stream media oxygen. Ironically, OWS was marching to protest NDAA (remember, the National Defense Authorization Act – that says if you are suspected of being a somehow dangerous being or hanging out with people the government doesn’t like and calls or thinks are dangerous, even on American soil because the USA is a Battlefield – you can be arrested without a warrant, your premises can be entered without a warrant, and you can be removed to wherever without charges and held without charges until whenever.)
President Obama signed it with a “don’t worry, I won’t do this anyway” statement. We will all sleep better at night, right?
Except…the first instance may have already happened. In New York. Tonight. To citizen journalists. And remember, what do journalists and those who defend the unpopular or disclose what power wants to keep secret do? Every day? That’s right. Speak truth to power. Poke their fingers in Big Brother’s eye – that is what indigent defense does, that is what journalists used to do and citizen journalists still do. Except now, if Big Brother doesn’t like that poke in the eye, and wants to, maybe all citizen journalists and those who defend the unpopular and the politically risky may find themselves suddenly under arrest, or disappearing for as long as Big Brother likes.
At a minimum, these arrests look and feel like suppression of the press; livestreaming now is what printing presses were then and there used to be an uproar – at least some of the time – when the government or a mob smashed those printing presses.
Edward R. Murrow’s speech seems like an eerie prophecy today.
A quote from that speech:
I begin by saying that our history will be what we make it. If we go on as we are, then history will take its revenge, and retribution will not limp in catching up with us. Here is the transcript of the whole speech about the use of the media to drug the American public, distract us, and render us little more than dazed sheep.

Daily Kos is covering this story Yahoo is covering this story And of course, the internet warriors of Intel Wars are covering this story
I am personally certain that if he were still alive, and out there in front of cameras and on the air, Edward R. Murrow would be covering this story, just as he went head to head with McCarthy’s Unamerican Activities Committee – which, may I say, appears to have been resurrected.
There is a chill wind tonight, and it is NOT just the wind chill.
Here is what was left on the studio’s door (but none of the other tenants in the building were made to leave, or arrested, nor was the building condemned. Of course, the other three floors of tenants are still there – I guess one apartment that just happened to hold citizen journalists got condemned – let’s call this “story developing” and I will post updates if and when received.
