Hot off the wires, Rick Santorum announced today (Tuesday) that he is suspending his campaign:
Rick Santorum announced Tuesday that he is suspending his Republican presidential campaign after a weekend of “prayer and thought,” effectively ceding the GOP nomination to Mitt Romney.
I want to personally thank Mr. Santorum for contributing so generously to the wealth of anti-Romney material available to the Obama campaign. Of course, Mr. Santorum’s contribution pales in comparison to the treasure-trove of similar material generated by soon-to-be-ex-candidate Newt Gingrich.
I sincerely wish Rick Santorum a long and quiet post-political life.
