the GOP nomination contest has been over for a while now. Doesn’t mean we can’t continue to enjoy Santorum’s Romney-bashing, and Romney’s inevitable gaffes. đŸ˜€

he can’t “close the deal” with Conservatives and hype up the “anyone but Mitt” vote.
It is still a long way till November and so many things could happen to push those critical independents… Luckily for President Obama, gas prices is only a valid complaint to the POTUS when the POTUS is a Republican, otherwise the POTUS has nothing to do with gas prices.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi, July 7, 2008 –
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi wrapped up her San Francisco holiday weekend Monday with a blast at President Bush. The topic — the price of oil. Gasoline has more than doubled since the Bush administration took office she says.
San Francisco’s Meals on Wheels turns out more than 1,300 meals a day to seniors. But now there has been a dramatic rise in expenses.
“Our costs have gone up 40 percent, but even more so, the indirect costs of driving food costs is really taking a big hit on us. Almost a nine percent increase in food costs in just one year,” says Ashley McCumber of Meals on Wheels.
McCumber joined Speaker Pelosi Monday to dramatize the tough times businesses are having because of fuel costs. The speaker blames what she labels the Bush-Cheney big oil agenda, using graphics to point out gasoline prices have more than doubled in the Bush administration.
“This is a scam of the greatest magnitude,” says Speaker Pelosi.

strategy in 2008. There was no way he could know what gas prices would be, but they should have know that volatility would be the eventuality.
I’m not sure how much he’ll get tagged with it. People hate oil companies and it’s not a big step from gas prices to them.

it didn’t seem like Ann Romney was trying to be clever when she said in
an interview from Baltimore’s “The C4 Show” where host Clarence M. Mitchell IV was interviewing Romney’s wife Ann.
“Sometimes he appears stiff.” C4 told Ann Romney. “Do you have to fight back like, ‘My husband isn’t stiff, ok.'”
She laughed and replied: “Well, ah, you know, I guess, I guess, we better unzip him and let the real Mitt Romney out cause he is not.”
Oof.
Politics 101. Never say “unzipped.” Especially after someone has just said “stiff.”
This contains a recording. I can’t vouch for the rest of it. I didn’t watch.

VP Biden’s long list of gaffes.
Vice President Joe Biden made yet another gaffe today when he mistakenly called Scott Community College President Dr. Theresa Paper quote “Dr. Pepper.”
Imagine the field day you guys would have if George Bush had done this, so funny!

to make fun of Biden, but that is pretty funny. After listening to the clip again, it sounds like the DJ actually planted the idea in her mind without her knowing it.
As a teacher, I’ve made some gaffes myself from not enunciating the words “off” and “Huck” clearly enough when I said them in succession to defending the sex lives of older people (like Hamlet’s mom) with a tone of sincerity that was just plain weird. (And I wasn’t even 40 yet). Then there was the time I started teaching class not knowing that my fly was down…
Public life is the opportunity for mistakes. I’m lucky enough not to have mine broadcast.
