Washington and our representatives have shown no leadership on the issue of Gun Violence. Governor Patrick and Mayor Menino need to do more; because they can.
Leadership should be on a state and city level. We can introduce creative taxes, restrictions and laws. What Patrick and Menino can’t do is nothing.
While this is a national problem it is only a matter of time until it strikes our state.

both Patrick and Menino are strong on curtailing guns. We have some of the strictest gun laws in the country.
The problem is there’s little we can do in Massachusetts to ward against what other states allow. If someone can go to a gun show in Georgia and buy 60 guns in one day, there’s nothing to stop them from coming up here and selling them on the streets. And that’s exactly what happens.
Until we get other states in line with some very basic gun law reforms, like limiting the number of weapons people can buy in a month to 3, 5 or even 10, then it’s going to be very hard to reduce the numbers of them on the streets of cities across the country, never mind reduce access to weapons to the nuts like one at Batman.
