Today, July 12th, marks the wedding anniversary for both Elizabeth Warren and Scott Brown, six years (for us political junkies that’s one senate term) apart. EW said on her Facebook feed that she sent flowers to Scott Brown and Gail Huff to mark the occasion. To think the two had nothing in common!:)

I checked, it’s the anniversary of Warren’s second marriage, in 1980 to law professor Bruce Mann. I wonder how the wording for the captions was decided, it’s pretty funny:
“Senator Scott Brown and his wife, Gail Huff.”
versus
“Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren and her spouse, Bruce Mann.”
Why not say “husband?” Is “spouse” more feminist or something?
I wonder what the Huff- Browns’ sent Bruce and Elizabeth?
