“He embellishes things sometimes that get him in trouble.”
–Joe Battenfeld of NECN & the Boston Herald, on Scott Brown
“Be worried about Senator Brown. Be very worried. It looks like he’s becoming delusional, starting to believe — and worse, trying to convince others — that he’s far more important than any junior senator has ever been.”
–Brian McGrory of the Boston Globe, on Scott Brown
Republican Scott Brown seems to have developed a habit of exaggerating, embellishing, and taking credit for things that he shouldn’t. We’re all well aware of Republican Scott Brown’s repeated boasts of “secret meetings” with kings and queens. You also may recall that, last year, Brown boasted that he had seen the highly guarded photographs of Osama bin Laden’s corpse, only to later admit that he – a member of the U.S. Senate’s Armed Services and Homeland Security Committees – had been duped by an internet hoax. Whoops.
But Republican Scott Brown’s serial exaggerating goes even deeper into policy. This past April, Brown provided himself with quite the pat on the back as he told the panel of MSNBC’s Morning Joe program that “the only reason we’re getting things done [in the U.S. Senate] is because I’m there.” Yes, Brown took singular credit for the entirety of the U.S. Senate’s work. I wonder how Brown squares that particular boast with his voting record of supporting partisan obstruction over 75% of the time.
To remind voters that any claim by Republican Scott Brown should be taken with an enormous grain of salt, ProgressMass has assembled this YouTube video. Help nip in the bud Brown’s habit of repeatedly taking credit for things that he shouldn’t by sharing the video through your social media networks.
