Time to kick ass. I’m all in. Last night’s debate and today’s reviews have the blood running.
Warren has the organization, the money, the GOTV, the issues, enthusiasm, back story, and smile to walk away with it.
Brown has the temperament, intelligence, and personality to self destruct.
Warren has to tighten up her defenses first. Brown is trying to hi-jack campaign with Indian and Travelers Insurance issues. She lost the debate imo because she did not answer the attacks head on.
Both easy issues to defend and move on. Should be 15 second talking point that BMGers should know and be able to expand upon.
Warren was hired as lawyer to for legal representation pertaining to dispute involving $550 million dollar trust fund. They are entitled to representation. Would Senator Brown dispute that? Traveler’s policy holders, pension fund investors, etc are owed fiduciary duties. And oh btw Warren’s side won regarding the $550 million dollar trust fund.
What Travelers Insurance IS NOT entitled to is…….(an issue related to Brown being in bed with Wall Street which is what Travelers is)
Indian issue is easy to answer and move on.
Her parents story is compelling. And believable. And that’s how it was back then. And if you honest;y believed you were a percentage of some group that as a result gave you a leg up why would you not? Everyone knows that.
And the campaign is not turning campaign into a forensic review of Warren’s personnel records. Sorry Scott, didn’t just fall off the turnip truck..
Warren has to answer be fore moving on these issues. She did it somewhat on Indian issue did not do it on Traveler’s. Cost her serious points.
Scott’s a tool and he showed over and over last night. Warren should be psyched for the next one. All she has to do is work on the two issues that he attacked her on.
He is the furthest thing from independent. He sold his soul to Grover Norquist thereby turning his back the people of MA.
IMHO BMG should be more about hitting home the main points and less about about Brown’s insignificant missteps and misquotes.
Let John Walsh do his thing. The tweaks needed for the next debate are easy. Pushing the right buttons could cause Brown to have an on-air temper tantrum some time. He cannot take any criticism.
And if cornered he’ll throw anyone under the bus. Including blood.
One more thing for Warren. Never ever ever ever again mention the Boston Globe. DON’T DO IT!! WTF
farnkoff says
If someone believes themselves to be 1/32 African-American, and 31/32 Euro-American, it’s okay to identify as black on job applications? Not sure everyone would agree that this is appropriate behavior, “to get a leg up”, especially if it’s just based on “family lore.” Some black ministers in Boston, as well as at least some Cherokees, have publicly expressed concern about Warren’s previous identification as a racial minority. These folks seem to have been pretty much ignored by both Warren and the Massachusetts left.
That said, I plan to be out canvassing for Warren tomorrow morning in Hyde Park. I sincerely hope she wins. BTW, Scott Brown looked like an a-hole the other night- great to see his true colors coming through finally.
