10/22/2012: Hello our relatives. Our dad and husband now walks among our ancestors. He began his jou8rney to the Spirit world at 4:44 AM, with the Morming Star at his home andranch in Porcupine. There will be four opportunities for the people to honor his life to be announced at a later date. Thank you for your prayers and continued support. We love you. Is this someone we are supposed to know? Of course I’m sorry to hear of his passing and I just looked him up on Wikipedia, but when you say giant of a man I infer he is well known. This is the first I have heard of him.
though I wasn’t born until 1975. He deserves a lot of the credit for raising awareness of Native American history, and legitimate complaints about their position in society, at a time when many Americans understood the original inhabitants of this land only as caricatured target practice in John Wayne movies.
