It is with sadness that I mention that DSC member Bill Bradley of Ware passed away last week.
On a happier note, I am thrilled to congratulate my good friend, Norma Shulman. She is being honored as ‘Democrat of the Year’ in Framingham on Saturday. Norma is an indefatigable worker for the Democratic Party and candidates across the state and the country. She is a talented organizer who recruits and leads volunteers, while continuing to knock on doors and make phone calls herself. And she makes time to volunteer in other community efforts. Consider attending the gala in Framingham on Saturday evening. It should be a fun event and a great way to celebrate.
In eight days, the First Family will engage in one of their favorite inaugural traditions: local service. This year, like in 2009, the President has called on Americans to engage in acts of service in the spirit of Dr. King on January 19. This is an opportunity to honor Martin Luther King’s legacy, form lasting connections to local organizations doing great work, and beginning the work of OFA 4.0. As the President has said, winning the election was just the beginning, not the end, of our work. There are a few things you can do to make sure this day of service is a success and the President’s second term starts on a high note. Sign up for an event using this link. Send this link out to all of your networks through social media, email lists, etc.
If you have a project that is ready to go, please send the information, including the limit of number of volunteers that you can accommodate, to Jayson Joyce at JJoyce@2012PIC.org 508-776-7476.
