I loved it when she cracked a joke about Beacon Hill, then said hey, I’m not running again for quite a while!

The audience seemed rather dead.

The crowd was heavy on party flacks whose priorities are:
1- re-election
2- post-politics career
3- moving to a political position of doing more of what they want
4- fulfilling the promise of the Democratic Party as written in the platform
So no, it wasn’t her crowd.

She was great. The joke about St. Patrick driving the snakes out of Ireland and on to Wall Street was excellent, as was the joke about singing on Beacon Hill usually meaning a grand jury appearance.
Top notch. Down hill after her…although Mayor Menino was funny.
on an absolute scale. Maybe funnier than others at the event, and maybe her jokes would be laugh-out-loud if she had the skills of a stand-up.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Senator Warren’s work in DC. I don’t expect people who excel in public policy and politics to also be comedians. And, well, Elizabeth Warren excels in the former, and not in the latter.

Its a good opening for this kind of event, and the vast majority of the old time Pols here are not funny.

He is usually quite hilarious.
I liked the Tim Murray cameo the best.
