I thought that I would start an open thread since so many people are home because of the weather. I was planning on canvassing, but there’s a fine line between the voters thinking you are dedicated and the voters thinking that you are nuts. I’ve crossed that line more often than I care to count;
Our usual FRIDAY, DOORS AND DRINKS is cancelled. But it’s a great time to make phone calls because everyone is HOME. If you want to make phone calls for Ed Markey and need access to a call list, please contact HQ at 617-286-4147 or contact Megan Costello at megan@edmarkey.org.
Back to the open thread. What’s the weather like where you are. We have about about fourteen inches out here. I
What are people hearing about the senate race? Other special elections? Who’s in and who’s out for 2014?
While driving in this morning, something weird happened while I was passing a snow plow truck on Storrow Drive. The snow plow blade of the truck jumped up and smacked down on the pavement, sort of like it would if it hit a speed bump. At first I thought that maybe I had hit the blade with my car, but there is no sign of damage (or even a scuff mark) on the bumper of the car. Since I know there are no speed bumps on Storrow Drive, I must assume that the driver did some type of hydrolic lift and drop, possibly to clear ice off the blade itself. Regardless, it scared the hell out of me. Is this something plows normally do to clear snow and/or ice from the blade itself? Just Curious. I was in a panic for about 5 miles that any second the airbag would smack me in the face.
The only ones I know for certain are Joe Avellone for Governor and Steve Kerrigan for LG. Timed as it is to be a couple of weeks after the Senate special look for the state convention in Lowell to be the campaign kickoff for all comers seeking statewide office.

Joe Avellone is a former Wellesley Selectman. He made several caucus appearances this year. Steve Kerrigan served as CEO of the 2012 Democratic National Convention and explored running in the 2007 5th CD special.
Well I don’t think Brown 14′ is as formidable as Brown 10′ , let alone Weld 94′-the last time the Democratic ticket was two random no names. But I give them credit, and if you asked anyone in Massachusetts politics who Deval Patrick was in 2005 they’d have rolled their eyes at you. Let’s see what these guys believe and where they are coming from.
I am having a great deal of difficulty with Linda Dorcena-Forry marching in the discriminatory St. Pat’s Day Parade in Southie. The point isn’t to disguise the LGBT communty as Linda supporters so they can march with her. The point is to let LGBT groups march openly as themselves.
Although I have not seen anyone else yet who I would prefer over Linda, this does make me want to hear the other candidates present now at some forum.
