The Dorchester Reporter has a fantastic story of a public tribute to the Richard Family of Dorchester. It is based on a W.H. Auden poem:
Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come
I have loved this poem ever since I first heard it in the movie “Four Weddings and a Funeral” and it is tremendous to see its use today, IMHO.
