This post is mostly about Massachusetts pride, and only a little about politics.
My town, Concord, MA, made the final three in a Facebook contest, sponsored by Saris, to win a “bike corral” (i.e. large bike rack).
If we win, the rack would be installed in a high visibility location in West Concord, with easy access to locally-owned stores, including the excellent Reasons to be Cheerful.
But let’s get down to brass tacks: the contest is currently down to two towns: Concord and Morrisville, NJ. The voting has been going on all week, and it’s been back and forth. We had the lead this morning, but currently trail, 500 to 462 votes.
So here’s my plea: Regardless of what you think about bikes, or Concord, or pumpkin ice cream, do you really want to sit idly by and watch New Jersey beat us in anything?
I thought not. If you do Facebook, please go vote for Concord at: https://www.facebook.com/SarisCycleRacks/app_212049048919872
When you click to vote on Concord, you’ll be asked to add the Saris Facebook app. Please do so (if you’re on Facebook, you’ve given up your privacy already); you can remove the app immediately after and your vote will still stick.
Please help us out. Voting ends Friday night,
