I’ll be the first to note that Ernie is somewhat (ahem) eccentric, and he damn sure went over the line, but it’s more than a little unfair to impeach his credibility re: inside ball.

…that he is a State House insider? I still want someone to prove it! Ernie is free to start his own blog and personally that is my preference, but Massterlist is risking its credibility if they allow him in without some kind of disclosure.
It ebbs and flows. In any event, EBIII is very well informed. He is not taking a vacation now because of any substantive commentary but because of personal invective. It will free us of his style to focus on substance. That said, I would check his blog from time to time to get Whitey information and on the fleeting chance that it’s funny.

I join the editors in wishing him well in his new venture. While it lasts, we will have the best of all worlds — his occasional bursts of truly insightful commentary will be available to us as well as others, while we will be mercifully free of his offensive invective.
My prediction is that he will either learn to moderate his own tone (funny how things like this work) or watch his own site whither away into boston-globe-comment-space hell.

If EB3 does create his own blog, pick one day in the Summer where in a coordinated effort, we all create an account and log on and just Troll every posting with the most insipid Troll Dung, insults and invectives like a Troll Flash Mob.
