While Democratic candidate Congressman Ed Markey was marching in the Boston Pride Parade with Senator Elizabeth Warren, Congressman Joe Kennedy, state Representative Linda Dorcena Forry, Barney Frank, NBA veteran Jason Collins and a contingent of supporters…
…Republican candidate Gabriel Gomez stood in front of his lonely campaign booth talking to his wife, son and a few campaign workers.
Perhaps Mr. Gomez finally got the message that the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community and their allies are not impressed with his refusal to clearly state an opinion on pending LGBT-related legislation and policies?
The special election to fill the U. S. Senate seat vacated by John Kerry will be held on June 25.

While it would be nice if all of North America, and other continents too, supported gay rights, I assume the word you are looking for immediately above the first photo is “contingent”:)

Comparatively speaking it’s cool to even see a GOP at a pride parade. As someone who got married in Boston, but who lives in North Carolina, seeing anything but Democratic and local nonpartisan candidates at pride parades is a foreign site. Still, I think not intentionally not letting people know where you stand, is pretty clear evidence of where you stand.

Markey marches for equality. Gomez stands around should anyone ask a question. If you won’t walk for something, why should anyone believe you would work for it?
