The 2013 Roosevelt Awards Celebration was held recently at the Fairmont Copley, Boston. The Franklin Roosevelt Awardee was former Governor Michael Dukakis and the Eleanor Roosevelt Awardee was Shanti Fry. The two were celebrated and honored for their commitment to Democratic ideals, their service and their activism on behalf of our shared values. At the event were Democratic candidate for Lt. Governor, Mike Lake, left, joined by Wakefield Democratic activist Fred Rich LaRiccia who is Senior Advisor to Lake, a Melrose native. Lake also was the guest speaker at the May 29 meeting of the Wakefield Democratic Town Committee at the Americal Civic Center.
