Sure, it looks like John Walsh had a great job, because he did a great job. But it is no easy thing to think you can do John’s job. Executive skills, management skill, fundraising skill, media skills, and tireless energy. Of course you have to be a member of the state committee to get the job, but that hasn’t stopped some from dropping their own names into the mix.
So who are you hearing? Who do you like? Which direction should the committee go? I’ll start, I’m thinking Mo Cowan would be an excellent Chairman. And I have others mention him as well. Ok, I know he is not on the committee, but they do make exceptions for exceptional people…What’s a former Mass US Senator to do after he’s seen DC?
Anyone else?

Anyone know what she’s thinking? She’s got the energy, and loves to canvass, that much I know. Thoughts? Other rumors Setti Warren, Matt Patton, Nicole La Chappell

I spent months begging to volunteer on th Warren campaign and not being able to. After the way he botched his time as field director there, he needs to go back to an entry level position and learn how to do field competently before he gets any kind of high level position.
Kate Donaghue would be an excellent choice. So would Mike Firestone, who did an amazing job cleaning up Matt Patton’s mess.

The Walsh Factor cannot be repeated or imitated. The Walsh Factor has been his intuitive ability to be warm and genuine, while being a brilliant strategist and motivator. The Walsh Factor appreciates everyone, diplomatically disagrees without discord (except maybe if you’re a Republican trashing one of his friends around in the weeds – then he’ll swing hard), and is perpetually humble (maybe to a fault), with a smile that brightens the sunniest days.
New beginnings ahead.
Haven’t seen or heard a rumor, ‘cept here.

run across someone who thinks as clearly and hopefully as John Walsh. An optimist with a great BS detector. A guy with humility and also immense self-confidence *because he’s freakin’ done it*. A grassroots true believer and *executor*.
Irreplaceable, but maybe someone’s been watching him closely enough to pick up some of the same virtues.

Perhaps someone wonderful in their own way? John Walsh is sui generis. Any attempt to come close to him will look artificial and disingenuous. Someone who will put their own mark on the job. The person must be their own person (politically and personally) with their own strengths. Skills needed as I see it, Diplomacy. calm, intelligent and quick thinking speaker, no ambition to be a candidate themselves or it becomes about them and not the statewide candidates. Producing experience to pull off a convention. Management of finances and most of all fundraising.

…can also be accomplished through an excellent staff. There is also the actual chairing duties, which while John Walsh usually does fine is also by his admission not a strength of his. I think you are absolutely right about different people having different strengths and abilities and I look forward to seeing what those might be.

Ok. I’m getting ahead of ourselves, here. We need to wait until Hillary has been sworn in, again, in 2021.
But, then, Roger!
