I’m in Arizona right now, at the airport after attending a DNC meeting. It’s been energizing to hear from speakers including Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Secretary Stephanie Rawlings-Blake. Donna Brazile addressed our Eastern caucus and is always motivational. It’s both inspirational and educational to meet Democrats from across the country. Seeing Massachusetts Democrats such as Jim Roosevelt, David Simas and Maureen Garde playing leadership roles nationally makes me appreciate our Massachusetts talent.
On occasion people mention to me how much they appreciate the work that Matt and I do on the Dispatch. Sometimes people want to make donations and occasionally I suggest a good Democrat to support as a way of showing appreciation, for those who might be inclined to do so. Consider donating to Dan Donahue, the Democratic nominee in the 16th Worcester State Representative district. I’m on the host committee for a fundraiser on Tuesday (details below) or just donate here.
The Democratic Party recently posted the proposed rules for the Convention in 2014 and the Method of Selecting Delegates. The most significant proposed change is the potential of two chances for 15% to qualify for ballot access.
