Unbelievable! Perhaps the time has come for professional jurors who actually know the law rather than 12 bumpkins who were too stupid to get out of jury duty making horribly bad decisions like this.

If so, please elaborate. I for one am impressed they were as thorough as they seemed to be when given the nature of this case I can see an easy temptation to quickly say of course he’s guilty – let’s go home.

What’s your complaint? Should Bulger have been acquitted on all counts? Convicted on all counts?
If you’re going to throw a tantrum, at least be specific.

Wow, I am totally befuddled by this claim.

These words rise above the usual soothing calm that is your prose.

Add that to your suggestion that we upend a thousand years of common law, and yeah- we have a tantrum on our hands.

Seriously: No Finding. Perhaps the prosecuters did much worse than was reported, but I thought the case of his having murder the two women was central to the case.

Convicting a mob boss and racketeer was the central mission.
The Davis killing was thrown in there to piss off the defendent. I mean, really – was her life so much more special than all the OTHER murders he ordered and committed that were bunched up like some BOGO special?
The witness and the defendent were scorpions in a bottle. I, too, would have been reluctant to take the word of one over the other. Nobody knows what happened – like many other exploited young women each and every year.
He’s convicted of murder and extortion. That’s enough.

and astounded at the BOGO tactic, as well.
The sordid mess (and I don’t say that with a snotty attitude, I mean it with all sincerity) makes me distrust government motives, actions and words even more.

is the conviction for extorting Steven Rakes. Rakes was the target on BMG recently of one of EB3’s trademark slimy attacks. Nothing gutsier than attacking a murder victim while hiding behind a pseudonym.

To have the Federal Courts opened to cameras. Even J. W. Carney, Jr. spoke to and in favor of the issue of the public having access to the judicial system today on NECN in his first remarks following the trial.

Here’s the Spilka interview cross posted in a bunch of places.
Here’s Carney and co-counsel Hank Brennan on NECN 7:22 minutes into the video.
Also, listen to comments about government corruption. Chilling.
