Daily Kos does a lot of great things, but this one really stands out in my mind. They have crunched the results of the 2012 presidential and Senate elections, and the 2013 Ed Markey/Gabriel Gomez Senate race, and sorted them all by congressional, state senate, and state rep districts. They’ve even gone further and sorted every district into individual towns, and published the results, again arranged by whichever federal race you’re interested in.
Here’s the link to all the results. This stuff is invaluable, because it gives real insight into who is probably a lock in the state legislature, and who might really be vulnerable. For instance, did you know that Shaunna O’Connell lives in a district that voted 58-40 (!) for Obama, 50.4-49.6 for Warren, and 50.6-49.1 (with about a third the turnout) for Gomez? Now you do.

Useful numbers is all well and good, but you missed dkos’s hilarious take down of our district nomenclature:

As a DSC member from the Middlesex and Worcester District, I make a point of telling people the Middlesex and Worcester is not the same as Worcester and Middlesex. Otherwise people end up in the wrong seating area at the convention.

“district nomenclature.” Just one of many things making us unique.

As a Natick resident mt eyes went right to Sen. Ross’s seat… looks like there’s room to take this seat back, esp with Bernstein’s piece on YTD fundraising and the rumors Ross won’t run again.
Maybe some room for a youg Dem like Dylan Hayre?
