Nine years ago yesterday, I signed up for a Typepad account, typed up a modest welcome message, and posted it on our brand new blog. I imagine that maybe a dozen or so folks saw it – most of them related to Bob, Charley, or me.
To be honest, I can’t imagine that any of the three of us thought we’d still be going strong nine years later, with 3,000 or so unique visitors stopping by every day to see what’s new here. And we wouldn’t be, if it weren’t for all of you. So, whether you’ve been reading for nine years or nine days, thank you for taking a little time in your busy lives to check out BMG.
Onward!
Please share widely!
I think I’ve been here for nearly 8 years, and I’ve appreciated learning from the community and growing considerably during my time here. 17-25 have been some formative years.
Also BMG Shares it’s birthday with the Gettysburg Address which we should all read.
And I will end my tribute with one of the best quotes defining modern liberalism-it’s a great mission statement for our party and for this blog
What a great forum. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Next year we should do a Thing for your tenth. 🙂
Never too early to start planning. 😀
I have juuuuust the Cambodian restaurant…walking distance from my house…featured tonight on Channel 5’s Chronicle…
😉
We’ll be nine in May 2014, right behind ya!
But I really want to eat there. Maybe next time I’m in MA.
Love that place, and I still have yet to convince the Mr. that there’s stuff there for him to eat…he always has to warm up to a new cuisine first. ^_^
Actually, I consider you a pinko utility, so maybe that’s not right either.
You made me look. Marry in Massachusetts started a few months prior (July 2004), but it’s pretty much a peer. I rather wish marriage equality was a totally done deal. Maybe then I’d stop that blog or at least change the name to something less specific.
Back to it. Conga-rats anyway and many thanks.
One of our users got too busy to still be posting here. I appreciate her having discussed here the text of legislation. I look forward to learning here more about laws and climate change.
God bless Blue Mass Group+
Mabuhay. Ipadayon. Dumanon.
Congrats, guys, and keep up the great work. What you do is very important, and has a real impact. Thank you for your insight, your commitment to the grassroots, and your leadership.
Here’s to many more years of BMG!
You don’t look a day over eight.
Thank you.
Thanks for being here and helping me find my voice!
Happy 9th birthday BMG! Thank you for standing up, speaking out, and fighting for what we believe in.
And thank YOU for all you’re doing.
I remember those early days well & I’m proud to have been a little bit a part of them. BMG’s success is a testament to how hard you all have worked to get it to this point. Keep it up!
Happy Birthday!
Thank you so much for creating this wonderful place which is so important to us grassroots folks, but candidates too.
And I totally agree you should have a big “do” for the 10th!!
Also on 11/19/2004, Mitt Romney was elected vice chair of Republican Governors Association and said his work for the organization would not take him away from Massachusetts any more than usual.
Great timing, BMG, and happy birthday!
…if you understand that the operative words are “any more than usual”:)
And thanks. For those of us living in exile, having a place like BMG is a godsend.
I haven’t been around as much lately, but I’ve always been glad to have been on BMG in the runup to the 2006 gubernatorial race. Congratulations, Bob, Charley, and David, and to everyone else who’s helped make BMG a success.
To the Editors: THANK YOU! I’ve been reading and commenting for a darned long time. Thanks for creating this space to discuss MA politics and all the rest. What y’all have done is just so great, and so important.
From,
“Person #569” on BMG
😉
Let’s take nominations!
Happy Birthday to us. I’m proud of my user number 134! As is my custom I especially invite BMGers to the Democratic holiday open house that I host at my home. This year the party is on Sunday, December 15 from 2 to 6 PM at 17 Gary Circle. Guest list is growing every day. BMGers can try to find a corner and congregate and celebrate.
