“In this world of sin and sorrow there is always something to be thankful for; as for me, I rejoice that I am not a Republican.” H.L. Mencken
Here’s what I’m most thankful for this Thanksgiving:
1. My health. As a cancer survivor who has been in remission since 2007, to my compassionate doctors and nurses; and for all my fellow Americans who can now get the healthcare they need.
2. My job. As a public servant, every day I get to help the most vulnerable among us from falling out of the social safety net.
3. My home. For the chance to re-finance my mortgage for the family homestead and place of my birth.
4. Liberals. On this, the 50th anniversary of his assassination, to JFK and his homage to liberalism’s mission statement which I believe in with every fiber of my soul: “If by a “Liberal” they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people-their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights and their civil liberties-someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a “Liberal”, then I’m proud to say I’m a “Liberal.” President John Fitzgerald Kennedy.
5. My friends. Friends are the family we choose for ourselves. Especially my closest friend, Katherine Clark and Anthony Guardia for their selfless commitment to public service.
Please run for State Senate, Anthony. The people of the 5th Middlesex State Senate District (Malden, Melrose, Wakefield, Stoneham, Reading, & Winchester) needs your strong, passionate leadership now.
I hope that my fellow BMGers have something to be thankful for this year.
Happy Thanksgiving to one and all!

Very nice!
Number four is going on my fridge.
I always liked Anthony Guardia, I would love for him to challenge Rep. Wong.
Happy Thanksgiving.
(my first comment, yay)

My folks are moving to Wakefield and I really think that community could do better. That Wong beat a bona fide progressive makes it even worse.

There was a letter to the editor in the Saugus Advertiser Here.
Someone has said out loud what many of us were thinking.
Should the new board of selectmen follow through with this possible plan against Town Manager Scott Crabtree (who has done a phenomenal job), then it appears Mr. Crabtree could be the person to win back the seat previously held by Mark Falzone.
Apologies to the original poster for getting off topic.
