According to the Dorchester Reporter, Joyce Linehan has been appointed to be the Chief of Policy in the new Walsh Administration. I believe this is excellent news.
Observing Joyce since the campaign I have been deeply impressed with her solid progressive credentials. She is keenly attuned to the concerns of the LGBT community. Mayor Walsh is making all the right moves and inspiring this former supporter of his election opponent.

Congrats to Joyce. Everything that I had the chance to read that she’s authored, and everything I’ve read about her speaks well of her. The Mayor’s got an absolute right to put people that he trusts in place and Joyce seems like she’s got the Mayor’s trust. Joyce seems like she understands the role of government, and will work hard to make the City a better place for everyone.

Thanks you guys!
I am very excited about this. I’ll spend the rest of this month wrapping up the transition and winding down most of my PR business. (That’s the one sad part. I have such great clients, and love working with the arts press.) I will be at City Hall full time in February, ready to really get down to business, which means seeking guidance from smart progressives. Know where I can find any?

And congrats to Marty for making so many solid picks right out of the gate.
